In the first step, you need to insert the SSD containing Windows 10 into the computer. Then connect the SSD to the computer. Afterwards, you will need to select the SSD in the list of available drives and disconnect it if it is not shown.
Once the old HDD is removed, you need to partition the new SSD. If you have no experience, you might need some help. Otherwise, you could boot the computer to the free Windows 10 installer (it's free) to partition the new SSD. If you do so, it will remove the Windows 10 partition from the old HDD and create a new system partition on the new SSD. In this way, you could install Windows 10 on the new SSD, so you don't need to reinstall the operating system.
With the latest Windows 10/8/8.1/7 supported, the following instructions will show you how to clone Windows 10 to the new SSD. If you want to clone Windows 10/8/8.1/7 to the new SSD, it is essentially the same, just substitute the OS name.
Step 6. If you are installing on a new SSD, you must format it before you do a fresh installation. This will ensure that your SSD is clean and ready for the installation. If you are upgrading from Windows 7/8/8.1 to Windows 10, you can skip this step.
For example, if you are installing Windows 10 on an SSD, then, select the drive and click the Install button. If you are installing Windows 10 on an old drive, then, select the drive that contains the OS, click the Apply button, and then, click the next button.
